Adulting

Have you ever heard a million-dollar idea? One where you knew this is it! If it succeeds I'm going to be a millionaire or maybe I'm going to have the life I deserve.

Unfortunately most of the time it's just wishful thinking, or maybe one where I'm just daydreaming.

But they say that hope is what keeps us alive, so we continue hoping for better days tomorrow.

Normally, I can decide maybe I will start with small ideas like selling eggs, you know those mayai pasua and smoke pasua's and how tasty they can be and it does not hit the same when you cook it at home

But probably, I will just eat all the stock and not sell anything. The same thing happens when I think about selling fruits, running a shop, and all other perishable goods business. Can you relate? Probably not

The next idea I come up with is getting hired at the local place in town, then I think about the pay vs the costs vs the bills awaiting me. For example, an Mpesa shop attendant approximately get paid a monthly stipend of Ksh 5000, then do the maths of transport to and fro work, lunch, rent, water, tokens, don't get me started the nightmare that is KPLC

My tokens do not even last for more than two weeks, let me leave that debate for another day.

So back to adulting my own business visa vis being employed then versus the bills will make a comrade out here to go mad, literally, no pun intended. But a girl gotta do what a girl gotta do, wait, hold up don't misinterpret that statement, I mean legal ways, should I put it capital letters may be😜

Being a Kenyan youth is literally an extreme sport, and y'all just wonder how we ace the Olympics and the steeplechase games. In this country you literally have to run away from your problems, the government, the brutal police, the online scammers, should I go on? But I know you can relate

Let me stop my ranting here, as a kid I wished to be a grown up and I am suffering the manifestation of my childhood brain but so be it, I got the zeal and energy to soldier on. Oh that sounds like something from church choir👀

Ding Dong

Till next time
